I am working at Morel Ink in the mail room in Portland,  Oregon. Sorting and palletizing mail.  They are looking for people to help in the mail room for the next 6 weeks during political. - Kenda M

I am starting a temp job at Bath and Body Works next week, bring in a little money doing something completely different from what I've been doing for my 15 years at Boeing. Melissa H

I *J* got a month contract making more money over 30 an hour doing IT work. It's not my first contract but each contract I progressively get more money. Hope Union does the same :)

So before I was with Boeing and the union I was doing Uber food delivery. I've fallen back into that and it's not as dependent as last time thankfully. A warning for people who deliver food: there are a lot of horrid people who will abuse you so just smile, report those people before they make something up and you'll feel better about it - Anthony M

Employed full time at Amazon fulfillment warehouse in Everett.  40 hours a week. Along with working overtime. Shifts come out Friday and Saturdays. Several locations.- Shannon H

Hello, I want to share the work I have been doing while I have been on strike. I approached the owner of JDM OFFROAD prior to the start of strike to let him know that I would be interested in doing some work with him. The night of the vote the owner called me to let me know he had a project he wanted me to work on. He had me removing and replacing the rear frame rails on an old Japanese fire truck for a customer. It involved cutting and punching out rivets, fabing new parts, and reassembly. Since completion of that project he has put me to work on various other JDM vehicles. As an aerospace machinist it's been a challenge to NOT work to the tolerances and level of perfection that we are used to! - Jared K

I door dash every day as much or little as you want and need you are your own boss and aren’t obligated when you sign in also I have signed up for Walmart spark it is shopping and delivery groceries - James C

I'm working 2 part time jobs currently.

I'm back in the teamsters union working for UPS at the Redmond Hub as a pre-loader at $21 per hour 5am-9am but can run later if needed.

Also I'm working for CDS, this is the company Costco uses to hand out free samples. I work there 4-5 days a week 12:30pm- 7:00pm at the lake Stevens Costco for $17 per hour.

I have reached out to Stocker farms as well to be a zombie for their zombie hay rides where the people riding on the trailer shoot the zombies with paint balls. I haven't committed to this yet due to I'm painting the interior of my house and want to get that finished before the end of the strike.

On top of all that, I still have managed to pull 10 picket duty shifts and and planning on doing many more.

One day longer, one day stronger!! Hold the line till I get what's mine!!! Jeff B

Hello my name is Benton M, and I'm a grade 6 in-tank integral fuel cell sealer on the 777x wing composite laydown. I've been with the company for almost a year and I love what I do and I love my crew. During the strike I quickly went back to my old job at Safeway working night crew stocking shelves. I was grandfathered in to their new contract so I'm actually making about the same which really helps with bills. Their local union of the Teamsters fully supports IAM and we have done for so many years to make our community amazing. I'm sharing this because if our local brothers and sisters need temporary work, Safeway is the way to go for competitive wages. Hold the Line, we deserve everything we're asking for, and nothing less.

Hey there! I'd like to share where I'm working during the strike, at McGee Air Services as a ramp agent. there's 3 weeks of paid training and 23.50/hr to service Boeing 737s with bags, chocks, air, power, and water. the healthcare takes about a month to kick in however. pretty cool nonetheless. - Jay M

Kenny W - work out of Everett. Live in Mt Vernon. Hired on the Tuesday following start of strike. Driving for Amazon out of the new facility in Burlington. So far, so good!

Amazon flex and full-time, Uline Lacey, O'Reilly Puyallup Tanya P

The job i was working before I was hired on to Boeing. Almost 3 years ago. Let me work temporarily until strike is over.  Just driving a forklift. Loading and unloading trucks..and keeping warehouse in order.  I was very grateful to them.  I used to be one of the best they ever had.  So keeping in touch with them over the years helped me get back in.  Looking forward to getting back into Boeing after strike and seeing all my buddies again so we can help build planes together. Working at Stoneway Roofing. This is Aaron B.

I went back to my old job from 7 years ago gladly took me back for the time being. Marysville Les Schwab Justin M

I’ve been working at a IAM member owned restaurant in Everett called The New Mexicans. They have IAM signs in the window and I’m a cook there. The owners are Evie and Vince DeSimone. Hi my name is Toni H I am the sole income in a house of 5....I'm holding the line for our future and the hopes of getting that pension back and better wages so yes I had to keep working I luckily got a job with my son at an assisted living facility.. so the best part about it is spending more time with my family which is awesome I wouldn't trade it for the world I'm thankful for the strike on so many levels but again I did have to continue working so I picked up some part-time some time full time employment at the Everett plaza here in Everett. So it is close to home and I'm able to still walk the line with my brothers and sisters when scheduled. I'm very thankful for the opportunity to be able to help the elderly in our community but I also enjoy building airplanes but I need a livable wage like everyone else at the end of the day. I look forward to a positive outcome at the end of the strike and can only hope for the best thank you Toni H

I'm a grade 9 amt and got a temporary job with ATS inc. working on 737's Nathan G

UPS, loading and unloading trailers 21.00 per hour James G

Many Boeing reservists from all over the Puget Sound have been holding another line during current events. We are many, who are about to step out of the picket lines in support of our country as the mechanics we were created to be. The other line calls in times of need. However, many have also been supporting each other and the local community with the weekend Sea Hawks games & 446th AW support. We get to see each other, talk about all the Boeing updates every month, and things we'd like to see reflected at different areas of the Puget Sound. From all sides; Hourly, Salary, Receiving deliveries, etc.Your Reservists are Boeing, "Stronger Together" and together we all complete a bigger picture. V/r SSgt Kalee H

I got a job at Amazon and Walmart. They both are hiring like crazy so any member needing to find some temp work. Please apply Everyone needs to stand strong together and help each other out. In order to get the best contract we deserve. I’ve only been with the company for 6 years October 12 and I will never cross that line. I am a first generation Boeing employee for my family and both my kids want to work on planes. So I will fight for their future and mine at this company. Jeremy B

I found temporary employment at a local bowling alley that has a lot of current and retired 751 members bowling leagues there.  I get alot of support from everyone at Secoma Lanes in Federal Way.  I am working full-time but still make time on my days off to support the picket line. Jeremy M

My names Cody, I haven’t reached my 1 year yet at the Boeing Company but it will / would've been Oct 13th. Not having saved tons of money in that time while being the sole provider to a family of 4. Come day 22 of strike I had a great opportunity out here in Port Orchard, WA right next door.

The whole maintenance division over at “Trophy Lake Golf Course” showed the most love towards my (our cause, our fight) knowing that I’m on strike!
Brought me in showed me the ropes and got right to work on a 40hr schedule and the pleasure of missing days when needed to head out on the line!

I’m definitely not an avid or recreational “Golfer” by any means but I’m 32 years young and enjoy stepping outside my comfort zone and learn what others do to make a living.

Josh, Rob, AnnMarie, Jeremy (aka Spain) and the GM Brian show support towards our fight! 10/04/24 was my first day on the job and I’ve never experienced a better “first day” than today at any workplace. These are good people and they’ve gained much respect from me. The work put into the game of golf resetting pins at 3am in the summer or 5am like today when it’s pouring rain just to make sure people have their best game is hard work! These guys LOVE what they do especially Rob who I shadowed. 20+ years in the industry and leads the team on the course. Josh being the super intendant, is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Love his job and team and shows the most important aspect of being a leader, respect.

I’d love for them to get a shout out because they deserve it. If anyone’s out this way they’ll get the hook up also! Pstt the restaurant is amazing!! Thanks again and hope to be considered! Cody M.

Hello, like many of my union brothers and sisters I found employment for the strike.

I had been with Boeing for just under six years (I rolled over 9/14) and am the sole provider for my family, so I went through Express Employment Services a few weeks before the strike began, and the same day had an interview scheduled with a Solar Panel Manufacturer in Burlington, and subsequently got the job. It’s an entry level mechanic job and pays almost equivalent to what I was making at Boeing, and the Medical benefits are fairly comparable, which really highlights just how stagnant our wages have become. I highly recommend everyone use Express, or a similar service, the job market is wide open for anyone willing to go for it. Thank you, Eric R

Amazon is always hiring , pay good enough money to get through and pays every week. Yasmin W

Hey this is Hunter Record (3626729). Postal services are hiring seasonal employees in preparation for Christmas and I was able to get in with UPS today. It was incredibly fast and I scheduled a start date right after filling out my information. It might be worth looking into if other workers are looking to get a job to hold them over during our fight. Yazawa N

Working at Amazon for seasonal work. Very Respectfully, Adán L

I’m Jonathan J from Renton factory and as the bottom of one of the emails states. I did in fact find temporary/permanent employment for Les Schwab of Edgewood because financially I’m not well off and stuff happened that forced me to seek for other employment thus Les Schwab seemed to be willing to overlook the fact the union is on strike and were willing to hire me anyways. I’m very grateful for the opportunity especially when being consistently turned down by other employers for whichever reason may be. I’m under assumption that due to the strike, most employers believe I’d just jump ship and return to Boeing when everything is resolved which I understand. But when you’re in a tight spot financially, you just need a job or some way to bring home the money. While the strike is for sure temporary, not everyone has had every opportunity to stuff their savings or maybe stuff happened at the worst possible time. It’s these silver linings that are such a relief. Whomever reads this email and chooses to display it publicly, please by all means word it however you must so that its more appealing to other folks who might be in the same pickle. Jonathan J

Hello my name is Tammy. The temporary work I'm doing this fall is GFP response. They are an incident response camp. I work in the kitchen. So far this year I have fed three fire camps and I'm on standby for hurricane relief in North Carolina.

My work takes me away from here so I don't have a lot of time to be on the picket line. I have spent some time while I'm home hoping in the kitchen at the union hall and will be picketing the wee hours of the morning tonight. I love the Facebook groups they help me stay connected to what's going on. Tammy M

Amazon BF119 I start Sunday the 13th. It was very easy to get and I just have to wait a bit. Michal H

Just got rehired at my old dsp for Amazon, they are all welcoming machinists during the strike period as well! Fernando D.
