February 18, 2019 Update - Members Overwhelmingly Approve New Contract

Brothers and Sisters:

Today, your new contract was ratified by 90%!

We would like to thank all those who have participated during these contract negotiations by providing input to your negotiating team.

We would also like to say a special thank you to your shop floor negotiating committee members, Gary Naple, Steven Burch, Mike Powell and John Combs.  Their commitment and input during negotiations proved to be valuable as the discussions across the table progressed.

We believe this contract is one members can be proud of and can continue to build upon into the future.

February 13, 2019 Negotiation Update - Tentative Agreement Reached

Below is a summary of the new Tentative Agreement, which your negotiating committee unanimously recommends.

When complete, we will also post and print copies of the complete Agreement showing all changes and make it available to you.

A lot of hard work and preparation went into negotiations with your employer. Thank you to all who participated in meetings and surveys that helped develop the proposals that encompassed your priorities. Your bargaining committee worked hard to negotiate those issues most important to you. This Tentative Agreement reflects improvements in many of those priorities.

Please take the time to read the summary and complete agreement, discuss this with each other and be prepared to vote on Monday, Feb. 18.

Again because of the success in making improvements in nearly every category, your bargaining committee recommends that we accept this proposal and continue to build on the foundation of wages, benefits and working conditions, you all had a hand in creating.

February 11, 2019 Negotiation Update

The Union is making progress. We’ve come to tentative agreements on most of the non-economic articles of the contract. We’ve made some improvements in the areas of hours of work and overtime. We continue to discuss wages, PTO, retirement savings, health and welfare and job security.

Your hard work in attending meetings and completing surveys has paid off as these are the issues that we have formulated arguments and proposals on your behalf.

We will be back at bargaining again on Tuesday and prepared to go the remainder of the week.

Thank you

Your Union Bargaining Team

February 8, 2019 Negotiation Update

Again, we have reached more tentative agreements on mainly non-economic articles of the contract. We are continuing to fight on your behalf for the things most important to you.

We continue to have positive discussions in area of seniority, hours of work and overtime, and health and safety. We know that economics are very important to this group. We expect to have the bulk of our discussion on Monday and Tuesday regarding wages, retirement security, health and welfare and look forward to those discussions with the company next week.

Your Union Bargaining Team

February 6, 2019 Update

Your Union negotiating team met with the Company over the last two days. The Union is fighting on the issues you identified in the surveys.

The Union and the Company will continue meeting the rest of the week.

We have completed several tentative agreements; however, none of the TAs have touched on the economic proposals yet.

So far the negotiations have produced positive discussion on the issues important to you.

While progress is being made, we still have a long way to go. But in the end, each member will ultimately have the final say on the final agreement.

November 29th 2018

Thank you to all the members who turned out today in an incredible show of solidarity and support and voted 92% to authorize strike sanction.

This overwhelming vote sends a strong message to Cadence that you are united in your efforts for a fair contract and resoundingly support your negotiators.
